Sleep and Lung MD

Mark M. Chung, MD, a board certified internal and sleep medicine physician, expanded his business to his hometown of Cerritos in 2011 to serve the community he loves. Dr. Chung is one of only 3,350 board certified sleep physicians in the United States and is the only sleep physician practicing in the City of Cerritos.

Dr. Chung is a 1982 graduate of the University at Buffalo School of Medicine. He completed additional training in internal medicine at the University Hospital at Stony Brook and University of California, Irvine. He also completed sub-specialty training at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He entered private practice in Los Alamitos in 1987. Dr. Chung was commissioned as a Naval Medical Officer with the rank of Lieutenant Commander in 1989 and has continued to serve the Navy since that time. Dr. Chung is presently attached to the 14th Marines Reserve Regiment and has served on active duty during the Persian Gulf Wars. Dr. Chung is now a Navy Captain and continues his efforts to treat sleep disorders in active military personnel, as well as veterans from World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. His service in the Navy has provided Dr. Chung with valuable experience and has added to his expertise in his field.

Dr. Chung believes that educating the community is the key to treating many sleep disorders. To achieve this, and to give back to the community, Dr. Chung hosts a free monthly Sleep Education seminar at his office in Cerritos. Dr. Chung's practice provides a comprehensive array of testing and treatment options that includes the treatment of insomnia, sleep apnea, sleepwalking, nightmare disorders and sleep-eating disorders.

Dr. Chung is dedicated to serving this community by promoting health education in the areas of sleep medicine and respiratory disease. "I am proud to be a resident of Cerritos and appreciate your support of my business. Cerritos is a special city that is close to my heart, it is a multi-cultural community with a family oriented focus and its citizens have a high level of interest and always yearning for health education."
